Those fascinated with testing their survival skills and ingenuity can try their hand at a new game called Ark! This multiplayer project will put you to a real trial in the middle of the Jurassic jungle. After selecting a character, you will simply appear on the shore without any idea what happened, how you got there and what will be next. Your fate will depend solely on you. Gathering resources, growing food, building homes seem pretty standard in a situation like that. However, this classic survival scenario has a sudden twist – dinosaurs.
Thick-skinned, toothy creatures inhabit the whole island and are mortally perilous for a modern Robinson. Nevertheless, aside from bloodthirsty predators the hero can also meet friendly dinos. They can be tamed and ridden or used as workforce. We haven’t seen such interaction with dinosaurs in games before! The Ark world sports over 80 of their species, including those flying, swimming and living underground. The process of taming dinosaurs plays on of the key parts in the game.
Besides wild animals that can threaten your life there are also other factors affecting your survival chances. In particular, you have to regularly eat plants or meat. Each food unit has its own level of nutrition. Drinking water is also important. Note that inventory is limited. The heavier your backpack is the slower you move. So you’ll have to choose carefully what things are worth carrying. Good luck!
